Go Simonds Go!

There is so much to tell you I don't really know where to start.
Knowing that Monday was a public holiday, I wasn't expecting much work to be done on my house. On Tuesday, I was hoping that my bricks would arrive and by the end of the week some of them might be up. Friday, I was right! My bricks had arrived, and I love the colour. And they started bricking!

I was so excited on Friday to see how much they had done.
They also had the solar panel on the roof.

When I was there a truck pulled up and two guys unloaded my plaster and piled it inside.
Everything is happening so quickly!

I decided to take mum in to see it on Saturday. She hasn't been for a week weeks
(last time was when it was just a slab, which, to be honest, wasn't that long ago).

When we pulled up, the guys were plastering inside.
I didn't realise Simonds' employed people from the circus.
Did you know Plasterers wear stilts? I didn't!

Needless to say, we came back after they left for a closer look and ...

Everything is plastered!
(Time for more photos)

Lounge

Kitchen

Garage

AND...

Ensuit

AND...

Bath!

Everything is happening so fast!
My SS may be right. I could move in by October/November!

Can't wait to see what has happened by next Friday.

Shelter from the rain - The roof, my roof

You know that add where the guy comes out of his house to collect the paper in his bathrobe and gets distracted by his roof? Ok, I know his roof was colourbond, but I now know how he feels. Not only does it look wonderful on the outside, it also makes the inside more realistic.

All my windows are in and my sliding doors. The rooms begin to take shape.

Love my large 3 panel door.

The roof allows for other wonderful things to happen inside too.

Some of the pipes are in.

My Bonaire cooling and heating pipes are up in the roof.

My wiring is wound throughout the frame.

Next stage, lock up.
I have mixed feeling about the next stage. Don't get me wrong, I want things to keep moving at this fast pace. Everything may be finished by October as my SS predicted. But I'll miss just being able to walk through as I please (after the workmen have gone that is).
Soon I will have to seek permission to get inside.

Also the bricks will arrive soon.
I hope the colours in my head look as good in reality!

I've been Framed!

Driving to my block today, I almost drove past. Recognising my slab was difficult, not just because the road (which was a paddock not that long ago) was a bustle with work utes, a crane and herd of busy tradies.

No, it was the fact that now my block has a frame sitting upon the slab, with walls and roof trusses!

Last Friday (27/5/11)

Today (3/6/11)

It is amazing how fast these guys work.
Looks wonderful to me!
