My driveway has been finished.
As part of my 'Big Brands' Promotion deal with Simonds I got to choose $22,000 worth of upgrades for only $5000. One of the upgrade I decided on was to concrete the driveway. This cost $3432 if paid for separately. When I first did this I was told that the contractor would also be able to do the crossover (the concrete from the footpath to the road) for an extra cost later on.
A week ago the Concrete contractor called me and said he could do the crossover for $1720. I questioned why it was so much money. He said I could look around for other quotes but I had to let him know by the next day as that was when he was planning to start the job and he wouldn't come back if I changed my mind.
This is very disappointing that I wasn't given an opportunity to find another concreter.
I'm just glad it is done though.
I guess if this is the worst that has happened, it's not so bad (at least it looks wonderful).
Just can't afford a kitchen table now.
Nothing like eating on the couch anyway
